James “Jim” Fascher, 66, of Davenport, IA, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Genesis East Medical Center. A private family graveside will be held with a Celebration of Jim’s Life to be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Virus. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com
Jim was born April 17, 1954, to Ken and Phydalis (Swisher) Fascher in Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Davenport Central High School. Jim went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. Ambrose University. On February 10, 1979, he was united in marriage to Donna Breuer in Cassville, WI. Together they raised three children, Lisa, Mike, and Bill. Immediately following college, Jim began his retail career with Von Maur where he worked for 24 years. Prior to his retirement in 2019, he worked various other jobs. He enjoyed officiating baseball at the college and high school levels. Jim got involved with Little League first as a coach of his son’s teams, then on the board of the local Little League and finally as a district administrator. During his time as district administrator he was lucky enough to travel with three different teams from his district to the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Most important to Jim was spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim will be missed by his beloved wife, Donna; children: Lisa (Travis) Morarend, Mike (Carlie) Fascher, and Bill (Ellen) Fascher; grandchildren: Hunter, Abram, Lilly & Levi, Maddie, and Otis; siblings: Penny Morgan and Scott Fascher; his dear uncle, Uncle Ray Brown; and his Wisconsin siblings-in-law. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
