David J. Mickelson, 53, Davenport, died early Wednesday morning, January 16, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.
David Jerome Mickelson was born March 26, 1954, in Davenport, to Gherwood Eugene and Blanch Hope (Vasquez) Mickelson. Dave graduated from Central High School, Davenport, in 1972. He was employed by Blackhawk Foundry in Davenport, for over 30 years and most recently was a process manager.
He was a hard worker and loved to work in his yard.
Surviving are his mother, Blanche Mickelson, Davenport; a sister, Christina Springsteen, and her husband, Jim, Clearwater, Minnesota; a brother, Bill, Davenport; and a nephew, Shandon Mickelson, and his wife, Shauna, and their children, T.J. and Ty, Eldridge, Iowa.
Preceding Dave in death was his father, Gherwood.
Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Fr. H. Robert Harness presiding. Burial will follow at Our Savior’s Cemetery, rural Calamus, Iowa.
