Cynthia “Cindy” Wendler
March 21, 1954 – December 16, 2023
Cynthia “Cindy” Wendler, 69, of Davenport, IA, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a courageous battle with an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Cindy was born March 21, 1954, to Joseph and Harriett (White) Winckler. She was united in marriage to Rudolph “Rudy” Wendler on June 14, 1980, in Davenport, IA. She retired from Wells Fargo after 31 years of dedicated service.
She loved boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and all things outdoors with family and friends. She was a diehard Pittsburg Steelers fan. Above all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially enjoying her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Those missing her dearly include her loving husband, Rudy “Skip” Wendler; children: Travis Wendler and Trevor (Amanda) Wendler; siblings: Mike Winckler, Russ Winckler, Pat Winckler, Bob Winckler, Corrine “Bunny” Fritz, and Linda Neubauer; grandchildren: Chaz Wendler, Jaxson Wendler, Adelynn Wendler, and Caiden Wendler; and brother and sister-in-laws, Deb and Tim Heim, Connie and Ken Banks, Shelley and Bruce Meier, and Kathy Heim.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joseph, Jr., and sister, Luan.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Genesis (Home Care) Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
